Japanese Tea Ceremony

The Japanese tea ceremony is a traditional ritual in which green tea is prepared for a small group of people by aa tea master. The utensils used include three items made from bamboo, the tea whisk for stirring the tea, the ladle for the water, and a small scoop used for the powdered tea.

tea whiskThis is the tea whisk (chasen) made from a single piece of bamboo split finer and finer. The ladle () below is made from two pieces of bamboo used in different ways. The scoop for the tea is beside the ladle.
