Golden
Bamboo (P.aurea)
- this is one of our most popular bamboos for screening. We have large
field specimen size plants available. Normally priced at $80 each we offer
them in multiples of 10 for
$70 each. That's 10 for $700, 20 for $1400, 30 for
$2100 etc. These are large plants, 10 to 15
feet tall with 12" to 15" rootballs. Great way to get an instant
screen. These must be picked up at the nursery
or delivery is available at $1.50 per mile (one way).
Yellow
Groove Bamboo (P.aureosulcata) - This is another very popular
bamboo for screening,
especially for our customers living in cold climates. It gets close to 3 inches
and 30+ feet her in
the south but will be somewhat smaller in a cold climate. It is hardy to -15
and seems to be tough
as nails. We have these priced at $80 each if you but 10 or more. Normally
these are $90 and up
(depending on the size). A great screening bamboo. Big Plants!
David
Bisset Bamboo (P.bissetii) - This is one of the more cold hardy
species, good to 15
below zero! This species gets to about 1" in diameter and 23 feet tall.
Even though it doesn't
have limbs for the first several feet it eventually grows so dense that it
makes a fine
screen. This is a very fast grower and spreads quickly. We offer
10 field specimen size plants for $950. These are 10 to 15 feet tall with
12 to 15 inch rootballs.
We also have field specimen size of P. bissetii "Dwarf".
This form gets to about 18 feet max.
Nuda
Bamboo (P.nuda) Supposed
to be the most cold hardy running bamboo, it is rated to -20F.
This is a beautiful bamboo with dark green culms, very straight and erect
reaching 30 + feet and almost
two inches in diameter. Field dug specimens, balled and burlaped, 12 to 15
inch rootballs, 8 to 12 feet tall
$90 each.
Giant Bamboos
Giant
Gray Henon (P.n.Henon) - This is one of the giant bamboos, reaching
more than 60 feet in
heigth and over 4" in diameter. The culms (canes) are a beautiful gray
color giving a grove
a ghostly look. Hardy to 0 degrees. Field specimens are 15 to 20 feet tall
with huge root balls.
Normally priced at $115 each we offer these in multiples of 10 for $100 each.
That's 10 huge
plants for $1000. Delivery is available for $1.50 per mile (one way) or save
by picking up
at the nursery.
Japanese
Timber Bamboo (P.bambusoides) - This is another giant bamboo
reaching over 65
feet in height and more than 5 inches in diameter. This has some of the finest
quality timber of
any of the cold hardy bamboos. The culms are straight with very thick walls
and usually have
no limbs for the first 15 to 20 feet making it an ideal "timber"
bamboo for construction. 10
field specimen size plants for $1000. Save $200 or buy 20 and save $400.
Vivax
Bamboo (P.vivax) - This bamboo gets huge, fast. After only 8
years my grove has
numberous canes over 4 inches in diameter and 65 feet tall. You can expect
5 to 6 inch culms
when mature. Although it is not as strong as the Japanese Timber Bamboo (culm
walls are much
thinner) it is very quick to reach large size and is cold hardy to -5. With
no limbs for the
first 20 feet there's nothing like walking through a grove of this spectacular
bamboo.
Due to the scarcity and size of this species we usually get $120 and up for
field specimen
size plants. We have a limited number available at 10 for $100 each.
We offer many
other price breaks of field specimen size plants, numerous species. For more
info just email us or call 205-283-5638.
