Bamboo Nursery

Semiarundinaria okuboi

A lovely little bamboo that makes a great screen. It has very erect canes and short bushy limbs. The sheaths are somewhat persistent which gives the canes a special beauty all summer long. With limbs close to the ground and canes very close together it's great for privacy screens but often overlooked. This may be one of the fastest spreading bamboos I grow!

Okuboi bamboo
This young grove of S.okuboi was planted to hide the utility pole behind it. You can just see the gray transformer at the top of the picture. The bamboo should get several feet taller over the next couple of years, completely hiding the pole and transformer.
