A pretty bamboo with nodes that flare out more than average. For this reason it is called Large Node bamboo.
P. nidularia is called Large Node bamboo for the simple reason it has large nodes! It has some of the prettiest shoots of any bamboo. The canes average less than two inches in diameter and 30 feet tall. They are very erect with nodes that flare out noticeably more than most bamboos. It makes a pretty, decorative grove and the canes are fairly strong. This bamboo grows and spreads rapidly.
