Bamboo Nursery

Phyllostachys viridis 'Robert Young'

This form of Pigskin bamboo is also a giant bamboo but has beautiful yellow canes with ocassional green stripes. This may be my favorite bamboo! The largest grove of bamboo I have is Robert Young. The grove below, lining the driveway was started from about a dozen plants about 10 years ago. It now covers the back of my pond's dam, about 100' by 50'. Just beautiful!

Robert Young culms Giant Robert Young Culms

Most culms don't have stripes this wide.

This group of culms all came up together last year. There are 4, each over 4" in diameter.

This grove is along the driveway. Most culms are over 3 inches, several over 4 inches.
