Bamboo Nursery

Phyllostachy nigra 'Henon'

This is a beautiful bamboo with very distinct, bluish gray culms. This is one of the giants with culms that can get to over 4" in diameter. With it's ghostly look and high quality timber this is one of my favorites bamboos. Probably one of the easiest to spot and identify from a distance.

Bamboo Uses

Henon Grove
A young grove of Giant Gray Henon next to my drive. This is an area where
water flows when rains swell the pond to overflow levels.

Giant Culms
This is a picture I took at the Wilderness Park in Prattville, Alabama.
As you can see the culms get large!

Close-upI love the color of this bamboo.

Same bamboo but the color looks a little different here. Different time of the day, different setting on the camera?
