Bamboo Nursery

Psuedosasa japonica

Arrow bamboo, one of the best bamboos for privacy screens. It averages 12 to 15 feet in heigth, has leaves all the way to the ground, and is cold hardy to a little below zero. Best of all, the canes grow so close together it forms an impenatrable screen. To me it has a tropical look with leaves somewhat larger than the average bamboo and a lush, green color. A screen only a couple of feet thick will usually block the view completely.

On the right is a long screen of Arrow Bamboo about 12 feet tall.

Me, standing in a grove of Arrow Bamboo
This is me standing in a beautiful grove of Arrow Bamboo located near my place. These culms are about 12 to 15 feet tall. The large leaves give this bamboo a very tropcal look.
