This giant bamboo has the most beautiful canes that are bright yellow with wide green stripes on each internode, alternating from side to side.  The color is especially striking in the spring on new canes.  Castillon bamboo is a variety of Japanese Timber Bamboo but only gets about half as large.    The canes are very straight and erect and are ideal for construction and crafts.  My grove is next to a large Moso grove and the contrast between the cane’s colors makes this bamboo really stand out.         Buy this bamboo.

Green striped Castillon

The yellow canes really stand out in a recent snow we had.  This grove spread slowly the first few years but once the canes got large it really took off, following a stream next to it.
