Bamboo Nursery

Phyllostachys angusta

An excellent mid-sized timber bamboo with very high quality wood. This bamboo is currently in flower. You can see pictures of the flower at my Updates or Bamboo ID pages. The grove was just starting to look good but now it doesn't look as thought it will survive the flowering.

These are the stamen of a bamboo flower

P.angusta
This bamboo is currently flowering. My grove is about 10 years old and I noticed that it looked like it was dying, I took a close look and found the entire grove flowering heavily. With luck, I may get seed.

2006
The grove is dead. I had several shoots come up over the next couple of
years after flowering. These small shoots flowered as soon as they leafed out. I finally cut everything to the ground and as of 2007 there is no bamboo there.
