This is about the smallest bamboo you can grow. It use a line trimmer to keep this one at about 3 to 4 inches and it spreads like Bermuda grass.
this heigth keeps most weeds out of the bamboo so it has a nice look, almost like a mown lawn. It is spreading out in a sunny area
where I have large clump grasses. It will eventually cover the area like a lawn between the different grasses and bamboos.

This little bamboo is spreading like crazy even though it gets mowed down to a couple of inches tall. You can really see how bamboo is a grass.
